Administrator & Moderator
Primentra has two levels above ordinary role permissions. Administrator is unlimited. Moderator is limited to the models and entities you assign.
Administrator
Administrator access comes from role membership. Any role with the Administrator flag grants it to every member. Set the flag on the Settings tab of the role.
Administrators can:
- Open every model and entity, whatever the permission matrix says
- Manage users, roles, and permissions
- Open General Settings, including the database connection and mail settings
- Open every admin page: Manage Models, Access Management, Integration Views, Business Rules, and the logs
- View and edit data in any entity
A crown icon marks administrators in the settings menu and in the user list.
Primentra refuses any change that would leave no active administrator. You cannot delete the last one, and you cannot remove the Administrator flag from the only admin role.
Users without the Administrator flag
A regular user reaches the data grid, My Submissions, and — if their role has the Approver flag — the approvals screen. Every other admin page is closed to them.
Moderator
Moderator is a permission level inside the matrix, not a user flag. It grants full CRUD plus configuration rights within the scope where you set it.
Moderator grants:
- All four CRUD operations, enabled automatically
- Access to entity configuration — entity settings and attribute definitions
- Access to the Manage Models page, limited to the models and entities the role moderates
A moderator sees the Manage Models item in the sidebar and nothing else from the admin area. Inside it, only their own models and entities are listed.
Entity moderator against model moderator
| Scope | What you can do |
|---|---|
| Entity moderator | Edit or delete that entity and manage its attributes |
| Model moderator | The same, plus edit or delete the model and add entities to it |
How the three levels compare
| Level | Set where | Reach |
|---|---|---|
| CRUD | Permission matrix | Exactly the operations you enable |
| Moderator | Permission matrix | Full CRUD plus configuration, within the assigned scope |
| Administrator | Role flag | Everything, everywhere, all admin pages included |
Grant Moderator
- Go to Settings → Access Management → Roles.
- Open the role and select the Permissions tab.
- Click the Mod toggle on the model or entity.
- The four CRUD toggles switch on by themselves.
- Click Save permissions.
