Download and install
Download the installer, run it on any Windows machine with SQL Server access. It installs Node.js, registers a Windows service, opens the firewall port, and creates a desktop shortcut.
Go to download pageCreate the database
Run the included SQL script in SQL Server Management Studio. It creates the Primentra database and a dedicated service account. Takes about two minutes.
Configure your connection
Open your browser, navigate to the Primentra URL, and enter your SQL Server connection details. Click Setup Database and you’re connected.

Create your first model, define entities and attributes, and invite your team. If you’re migrating from Microsoft MDS, use the built-in migration wizard to import everything automatically.

A Windows machine
Windows Server 2016+ or Windows 10/11. Can be a VM, a dedicated server, or even your own laptop to try it out.
SQL Server
SQL Server 2016 or later — Express, Standard, or Enterprise. Developer edition works too for evaluation.
